A rainbow of peonies can be seen at Adelman Peony Gardens - also called Peony Paradise! With over 350 varieties of peonies in the field and 200 varieties available to order it is hard to decide on only one for your garden or vase. 

The Farm Experience

The nursery is located in the farm community of Brooks, just north of Salem, Oregon. Jim & Carol Adelman raised 5 children on this farm while growing crops such as peppermint, peaches, hazelnuts and grass for seed, with the main crop for 25 years being apples.

 They began selling peonies in 1996 with the goal of giving a customer experience not previously available for peony-lovers: big blocks of color with grass walkways and a display garden incorporating companion plants so you can experience the growing habits and lovely flowers of the peony. During bloom season flowers are on display in vases in the sales area for limited mobility guests to enjoy, also cut flowers and potted peony plants are available for purchase. Bare-root peonies are sent to customers across the country in the Fall.

Family Operation

Jim is the proficient grower and Carol oversees the customer service and office operations. Son, Steve is the nursery manager and his daughter Kady helps manage the office and keeps us all organized. Another son David, and his sons, Gregory and Todd, along with granddaughters, Alicia and Ashley, represent us at Portland Farmers Market and Beaverton Farmer’s Market. Son, Mike is the computer and website guru.
